Who fell?

4. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Galatians 5:4-6

It was both Jews and Gentiles. So it should not be strange to see people falling off the truck today. When it first broke Paul concluded that a bewitching was in progress: someone had put a spell on them. The church also had a resolute response to the assault; we are not following Moses and we are not admitting circumcision as a Christian practice.

Fallen and law-ified

We can imagine thousands of Jewish people who turned from darkness to light wanting to have a place of advantage because of what they found in the Yeshua’s disciples. What they did find was a lot of their sacred writings were in use by the disciples. It might have seemed to be be a waste of time- same God, same demands – what was the point? People will say that they are saved by grace and apart from law. Three same people will say that the way to show one is saved is to keep the law – that same law whose job was to point out what sin is. People who think that “justified” is not a reference to grace and blood and nothing else have not lawyered up.

If (a) the law was not given to save anyone and (b) the Jews were still seeking – in New Testament times – the one thing that could save what madness could have possessed them to try to repaint their law and prophets as the saving tools of Abraham’s God?

There really is no Christ in many Christians

Won’t it be eyeopening when the Jewish people tell us there is no God but Yeshua? We can fully expect them to confess being the original recipients of the gospel and can now clarify the message of the Anointed.

There are people who with a straight face will tell you:

  • Law is grace
  • Grace is a loan
  • Faith is works
  • Works are proof of life
  • Proof of life is love
  • Love is commandment-keeping
  • Noone knows how many
  • Noone is saved until the end of the age
  • Noone has eternal life

A new wave of futility

Wait until we hear that loud cry that the Rabbi from Galilee is calling men to follow Moses and the prophets. That will be a token of our times and may go unnoticed even by the people who have been frontline followers of Yeshua. That call is sounding now and growing louder.
