Kings whose passing (maybe only the torch) passes like every Sunday morning are in the majority and they are obviously on the road to destruction list. Most Sunday mornings are distinguished by photo ops and glib soundbytes. Megalomaniacs, dictators, homicidal democrats, lawyers. and spineless business persons are the spread of our choices these days for rulers. That we are deceived by the glitter and the pomp of modern governments and even philanthropic organizations – most of which are rotten to the core – is evidence that the best set of laws and the best location turn out trashy leaders who are worthy of note as Very Bad Dudes who wiped with the flag and turned the joyful song into a war jingle. The flag flutters over a gruesome graveyard. It is not surprising that oppressors think that standing up for the anthem of a country that was this poorly led is something noble.
Like king like people! A history lesson is in order.
King Saul👎 Begging for death.
1 Samuel 31:4. Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
King Solomon the wise👎, in his old age, lost it.
1 Kings 11:4. For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.
King Rehoboam.👎 A child of a forbidden marriage.
1 Kings 14:31. And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.
King Abijam.👎 Bad dude.
1 Kings 15:3-4. And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father. Nevertheless for David’s sake did the Lord his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
2 Kings 18:3-7.And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he clave to the Lord, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the Lord commanded Moses. And the Lord was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
Manasseh👎. Bad dude. 2 Kings 21:2-6
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. And he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord said, In Jerusalem will I put my name. And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.
Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the Lord. 2 Kings 21:16
A very bad dude!
Would you stand up for the anthem of a country that was this poorly led? The Zionists named their country after a kingdom that did not have a single good king. The United States of who and under what god? Do we stand for Israel’s Constitution? Bad Dudes, royal or otherwise, do not find any redemption in the Bible; they will find it in Christ.
