An opening statement from a Black Republic strategist on television should contain at least a kernel of truth if not a maxim. It may not be clear whose rear end is hosting the strategist’s head but America’s god is consistently mercurial. Now you see him, now you don’t. If the GOP is not the American Hezbollah and the southern governors are not an indication of righteous indignation, insurrection-ready and trigger-happy cowardice there is only a snowball’s chances in Gehenna for reality to mean anything in the media.
What god! what reality?
The majority of the justices on the Supreme Court are making it clear to a precious few – who have the sense to listen to the audio of its hearing that they do not know right from wrong. They majority are so out of touch with reality that the elder justice, Clarence Thomas, is shamelessly pants-down and compromised by his wife’s intimacy with the planners of the January 6th assault on democracy and the attempted murder of those elected members of the Congress who dared to certify Joseph Biden’s win and affirm the loss of the 45th and most unfit person ever to occupy the executive mansion. Does a nation-wide ban on abortion and the criminalization of healthcare look like reality? Whose perception is it that American politics and religion landscape are together the cess-pool of catastrophe? That Black strategist is a good example of an American who thinks that landless freed slaves are a great first step in the administration of justice. Whose perception is it that Black people are really still being shut out of the commonwealth of the great and mighty United States in plain sight, through the electoral system and real estate policies?
