The Duplicity of Religious and Political Leaders: A Modern Comparison

The greatness that many religious people and political leaders desire is the same duplicity that revealed the Roman Empire as cheap iron and the great Greek Empire as bronze.  The manipulation of words is wreaking havoc on society.  So many politicians are lawyers that the difference between partisan and political must be clear to them and their followers.  The number of religious leaders who do not know the difference between God and country is large, insulting to Christ and abominable. Not even Israel can claim to have arrived – in fact the two kingdoms, Israel and Judah, rebelled against the yoke, the same yoke that the careless and silly in recent times are saying they can bear.  Let no one, Christians first, forget how law and order, all the powers of the religious authorities, the provincial government, and the Roman imperial government set out to crush the infant Church of Yeshua the Messiah. The abomination of desolation is not a levitical concern: it is the disgusting alliance between people of faith and secular government, and the consquences of such an alliance can be seem most recently in religious republics all over the globe and the Hollywoodization of “God and Country”

The Lord to Jeremiah

I have made you an assayer and a tester among My people, That you may know and assay their way. All of them are stubbornly rebellious, Going about as a talebearer. They are bronze and iron; they, all of them, are corrupt.

Jeremiah 6:27-28, NASB

Ten Commandments and Criminal Enterprise

Do not tell me that your receipt of the New Testament does not include a recognition that the good and honorable intentions of the Levitical system turned into a massive criminal enterprise in the temple. The Sadducees insisted that they were doing the right thing when they sought to trap Yeshua and his disciples into saying things that sounded like disloyalty. You cannot miss the fact that the Temple sacrifices, miscarried justice for  innocent people, he did the poor as unimportant to God.  The priestly interests – Sadducees  and their allies – were not just people obsessed with the ritual processes at the temple. They were tasked with administering justice and education, but they were often found skirting the issues of righteousness and faithfulness and perverting the interpretation of the law.  So what are Britain, France, Spain and Portugal and Italy going to tell us about the Sinai Covenant as the basis for governance? The sad thing in this scenario of modern government is that they and their religious institutional allies swear that the Ten Commandments constitute God’s  moral standard, with no proof of the commandments’ endurance or on their eternity.  It would be great to offer up one example of even mediocre success that one can attribute to compliance to the Ten Commandments.

Family under assault and related false alarms

Two alarms have come to occupy the Christian community. The first is that morality seems to have disappeared from the public realm, and the second is that the forces of evil have mounted a campaign against the family as an institution.  Both can be easily shown to be false. just ask yourself where on Earth is the birth rate down.   Every nation can be shown to have strayed away from the ancestral intentions, and examples of these are (1) the supposed end of genocidal attacks upon the people of Canaan by Abraham’s descendants, and the departure from colonial adventures on the wide and open fees by the European nations, (2)

Not even parental relations make it to the witness stand

Ten Commandment morality is so cheap that you can put the obedient persons in handcuffs, shackle their feet, and blindfold them and they can be registered as righteous persons.   If the obedient person is a child he may pass muster by being subject to his parents.  However, the Ten Commandments recommend themselves to anyone attaching eternal glory to them as condemnatory. Do we not iunderstand what “Yous shall not” means? Do we not know that the God’s curse hangs over the human race for our failure to honour our parents? Is that command not stated positively? “Honour your father and your mother” is to be included in the John the Baptist mission of turning children’s hearts to their ancestors, not in empty and expired traditions, but in caring for them.

It is utterly absurd for people to pick up the yoke of the law and say that it is now the righteousness of God when in fact there is no righteousness apart from Christ’s death, resurrection and his gift of the Holy Spirit. Everything else is certainly a fable. There are dozens of other fables that the Jewish people have been clinging to, such as Moses gave them bread from heaven, and that people cannot do good on the Sabbath even when it requires labour. It ought to be clear that God did not make humanity for the law: the law was issued to make men see their sin in the cold light of the divine laboratory.

Talk about the snares of death and the valley of death’s shadow

Physical death is not a threat to the church nor to believers. From the very beginning the apostles and early disciples knew it. The Jewish authorities failed to snuff out the church. Satan used a Pharisee contingent to try to have the Church adopt circumcision and commit to the law of Moses as necessary for salvation. I can hear the echo of of God’s laugh from that attempt by the rulers trying to distance themselves from the Lord’s anointed (See Psalm 2). That modern movements arise wanting to pick up where James and his Pharisee friends left off is diabolic. No Jewish institution, least of all the sared tent and its seasons (moedim, daily, weekly, monthly or annual, take any prededence over the glorious freedom of walking in the Spirit.

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. Gal 4:10

We can imagine if we wish, that Christ did not say on the cross, “It is finished”. Or we can make up a fable that avoids the fact of his obedience coming to a head in his death. We can also imagine that Christ is working in glory, but all of these scenarios are paths of spiritual death, and mere shadows, not reality. Christ’s priesthood has everything to do with his crucifixion and nothing else. Levitical process comes up in the New Testament only to help us chart our journey away from Aaron and Moses. How could Christ betroth us to Moses when Moses says, and the apostles agree, that the buck stops with Christ, that Prophet (Deut. 18:15ff). Deception and darkness has rarely been that bold.

The end of the Israeli lie

Stealing properties in East jerusalem and intimidating Palestinians wherever they appear (except in the Knesset) is good show business, until now.  Contributing to a precarious world is easy.  Just do nothing while Israel swears to use violence to solve its problem, stating openly its intention to annihilate Hamas.  Observers report that there is no difference between Hamas and innocent Palestinians in Israel’s war. On the theological horizon we have seen many movements arising in the United States. They too are tainted by lies, by deliberate avoidance of Messianic priorities, and by adulterating both Judaism and the Way (Christianity) to serve the absurd concept of a levitical ministry by Christ and a political governance without a king. It is no wonder that Roman Catholic church, all the evangelical churches. and every Protestant or reform-leaning churches support the notion of a religious state. Is not the Vatican proof that the religious state can persist, even if if does not thrive? You have the time to connect with the apostles in a straightfoward way and recognize that the clamour for law and order is a red herring whether it comes from politicians or preachers. Behind all the talking points, underneath all the righteous outrage of the morality squad is a supremacist code, a smirk, a wink and a nod.  Believe them at your peril.  You may never realize where the Pied Piper is leading his “majority”.  I hope you have seen clues that  every movement of the last 500 years, religious and political, is a snare for facism, slavery, and pure deceit.

One of the tested and tried ways to care for myself is to register and file under T.R.A.S.H every unhealthy interaction

How do you practice self-care?

The list is huge, so this query can be answered daily for a long time without giving up my privacy; what I eat, drink, binge on, my addictions, and things that make me sneeze

There is so much advice flying around the world that it is hard to duck.  Church, school, the apparatus of state and media managers all think they can drive people who are not ailing to the “hospital” and convince them that they are sick.  They have a rack of remedies ready to sell to the victim, who may not be aware that the remedy is a Band-Aid they will be expected to buy for the foreseeable future.

So, back to my self-care.  I have lived long enough to know that whether I am comfortable or uncomfortable I need to remember to give neither condition my full attention.  Things I can do nothing about do not threaten me.   I have been taught by great and wise ancestors to take leaps of faith in the  direction opposite to popular or urgent advice.
