Where did the law and order agenda and propaganda come from?  Long before there was an America or Israel kingdoms were pumping out laws to keep their ruling families in control of governments  and resources.   Let me be realistic. Moses was given the reigns to lead the Hebrew people, and Moses had no Yahwistic background.   It is evident that this wise and powerful man crafted various sets of regulations from his knowledge of Egypt; a slave economy.  Slave economics beg for all kinds of evil, because money – mammon – matters more than anything else. We have seen that exploiting labour was at the centre of ancient Israelite experience, and the American psyche seems incapable of confessing its own genesis along the same lines.  The other alternative to labour exploitation is deliberate lawlessness and glorified vigilanteism.  All the prophets and Moses left behind a vast body of law, and the American people are famous for a stupendous amount of federal and state laws.  Be that as it may, both Israel and the United States are well-known for thumbing their noses at law that recognize the dignity of workers.

Law and prostitution

Sex for money is as old as humanity they say and we realize that the innovation of paying for favours is born in the human heart.   Angels, the most primitive of creatures, had no property or nuclear families, so prostitution was born in the lab of human creative thinking.  Sex was based on love and attraction and ancient cultures, apparently, did not dance a tango with monogamy.  Monogamy is consistent with the one couple world, the world of Adam and Eve, but logically must  be intimately connected with divine character.  Divine character is irrevocably singular; Father, Son and Spirit being ineffably united even when the Son or the Spirit ventures into new territory, respectively, the Son becoming incarnate and the Spirit taking up residence in human bodies.  It is through regulation and law that prostitution is enabled to thrive. Competing nations and other corporate entities thrive and advance by making and changing laws and regulations. It is along this line of thinking and reality that Paul says that the law serves sin.

“The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.”

(1 Corinthians 15:56)

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.”

(Romans 8:2)

Religion and propaganda

Religious people should be the first to defend the private dimensions of all religions.  The privacy works to foster diversity and individual responsibility.  Without a private component most religions would lose their appeal to the mysterious and the recognition of personal dignity.  So we should try to distinguish the unbending demands of religion, and put value on the varied responses of individuals.

The propaganda of law in the international community

Israel used the mantra that it was superior to all nations because of its law.  Every corner of Israelite life had a supposed basis in the law.  The propaganda about the law’s peculiarities and the fables about how the law preserved the Jewish people, nation and kingdoms does not seem to have affected the superpowers of antiquity until the Persians

Or what great nation is there that has statutes and judgments as righteous as this whole law which I am setting before you today? (Deuteronomy 4:8, NASB)

It was a total sham.  The very centre of the Yahweh cult, the temple, became a monster’s bonanza long before the exile and was a crude and cruel marketplace in New Testament times.  The gleaming temple compound did not obscure the corruption of the priestly class and the illiteracy of the scribes.

So you, too, outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. (Matthew 23:28, NASB)

So we pass on embracing Moses, Daniel, Job, and Abraham for the excellence of meeting the Messiah.  When one realizes the real drift of Jewish election, history, and destiny, the flight begins, or the bewitching takes hold and the unsuspecting Gentile ends up seeing himself more Jewish than the Jews.  With the world’s governments pushing law and order to the top of their agenda and with practically every religious person seeing himself or herself as law abiding and compliant with God to the T, we must say the old hypo-hypocrite is his back.
