It is beyond redemption that people are being fed and are enjoying what they think are righteous and truthful turns to the right or espousing conservative (another deceitful label) attitudes or policies.  Historically, every right turn has brought about terror, tyranny,  abominable and outrageous regimes on every continent and more recently in the islands of the Caribbean, and in the rising nation states.  Even religious people have joined the uprising against governments that prioritize the collective and not any nationalistic or tribal values and priorities.   Religious people of any stripe cannot be trusted with the reins of power ever again.  That much should be clear.  The alliance between Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists in the name of cosmopolitan decency is Swiss cheese. The only group not known for nationalist malignancy are the Buddhists. All who are claiming to be patriotic and pluralistic will try to force a right turn into a catastrophic conclusion.

Turn left right here

“Turn left right here” is the name of a new song (August 2024) by yours truly and son (kyunganjy), that warns about people not being equipped with a historical perspective on the consequences of governments that turn to strong and unitary authority.  There should be no doubt that leaders who appear to be military conquerors and triumphal commanders-in-chief will not allow the people they rule to have the final say on what is good for everyone.  This principal has long been abandoned by individual governments, regional authorities, and by the United Nations in particular.

Patriotism will always give priority to one sector of society

For too long we have allowed divisions like Jew and Gentile, citizen and migrant, employee and employer to shape public policy.  Every civil war, every revolution, has focused on the insensitive treatment of the masses, usually the working poor.  It is a rare thing indeed for a nation to create space for people of different ethnicity to thrive.  In this regard Israel is a shameful example of injustice and deliberate miscarriage of justice, because it carries on a program of bloodshed and theft in the name of self-defense. Every nation will save itself a wolrd of hurt by turning left right here, because right turns will only give the world more of Germany’s worst, America’s misfiring 45s, and extreme megalomaniacs like Israel’s criminals leaders.
