Who is so blessed to be beyond cursing?

• Is it the covenant breaker?
• Is it the divorcee?
• Is it the unfortunate Gentile?
• Is it the descendant of Abraham?

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Ephesians 1:3, NASB)

Whatever blessing is available from supporting the Jewish people or Israel is immaterial.  Every village on the planet is assured sunshine and rain by God, the Father of Yeshua. There is no place where the excellence of Yahweh’s name is not extant.

Where are the law-abiding citizens when the world needs them to oppose racism,  massacres, annexations, curfews, denial of food and water to one’s neighbour? Maybe one still has not decided what neighbour means.

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, (Matt 5:44) ​so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matt 5:45)

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! Ps 8:9

You can’t kill a dead man, unless you think that murdering people who exercise their constitutional and God-given rights to live in Palestine or anywhere else (Australia, Europe, African, Asia, North and South America) is going to be more successful than the American White supremacists, South African Afrikaners, the patriarchs selling Joseph to Ishmaelites, or Islamic faithful spreading out across Asia. Christian faith is not compatible with any other faith or political ideology.  Faith for Abraham and his descendants means confidence in something beyond the reach of human capacity and endeavour.  If your faith makes you dismiss another human being’s food and clothing you have lost your link to grace and love. The people who can do no wrong are the most vile criminals, the most hateful, and the most popular. Democracy is a comfort zone that racists, xenophobes, misogynists, fascists can support until democracy gives them the all levers that govern the lives of the majority.

Enjoying the blessing

Crude crap Christian Once the racist, xenophobe, misogynist, or fascist has the power blessing is deportation. Then blessing is maintaining family honour by murdering women. Then blessing is ordering people out of their homes on a weekly basis to make an entire people homeless. Then blessing is systematically starving and bombing helpless people. If we can discern who God was blessing when the Allies defeated Germany we can declare anyone at all blessed. If we can discern what is the source of American rocket technology we can curse the Germans all we want. If we can discern who God was with when the Americans elected a known and proud felon we can bless all we want. If we can discern who God is blessing as the American people have refused for two centuries to reign in racism and a slave economy we can “Hallelujah” all we want. All of the religions and political ideologies have not the least chance of fixing the curses under which the human race is withering. Mary and her boy have spoken; all else is blah, and blessing is vanity (empty fluff) without David’s son.
