Israel’s four minute mistake

April 5 2024

The Israel Defense Force is not blind, neither in the day nor in the night.  It was inevitable that the IDF would be caught killing innocents.  That has been the hallmark of the occupation and it has taken the international community all this time from 1948 to call Israel to account for its illegal behaviour.  Let’s face the facts.  The self defence shelter that Israel and its supporters cling to is as flimsy as the one Israeli life for thousands of Palestinians exchange rate.  The veto protection from the United States may soon be gone forever and mistakenly targeting aid workers for terrorists should be investigated by independent agents.

One American pinky flick

Zionism, settler spiele, miniscule political parties, the exclusive right to self-determination, and a tyrannical Prime Minister are all caught in the avalanche of failure.  Iran does not need to huff or puff.  All the angry evicted Palestinians need not twitch a toe.  One flick of the American pinky and Israel’s cherished sanctuary vanishes.  It is highly unlikely that Israel does not descend into an abyss of domestic terrorism and the most complicated and chaotic insurgency the world has ever seen.  Israel’s denial of the facts – simultaneous attack on an aid convoy with its vehicles 2.5 km apart – is sufficient for the US, but Israeli paranoia and impunity have become standard.  What is four minutes of terror against aid workers when compared to 75 years of brutal British-sponsored occupation?

What better place for Felonious I to die than in Gaza

It is in Gaza that we find horrific images of starvation, disease, ethnic cleansing, exploitation and cyclical deportation.  It was in Gaza that a great judge of ancient Israel committed suicide, killing at the same time more men than he had killed all his life.  Samson died in Gaza. The commander in chief of the United States dared to say in public that the United States might consider taking over the government in Gaza and arrange for the deportation of Gazans to Arab countries.  It would be fitting for the appearance of justice that the most powerful individual (and currently the most unfit for public leadership) would get his knickers in an unrelenting knit alongside the blasphemous chief of Likud and the clans of criminal settlers.

Snickers and shudders

“Let him go up” was the call when the Hebrew Bible wound down, and “Let him go up” was the policy initiative of the Persian ruler when he discovered the history of the Jewish people.

Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!’ (2 Chronicles 36:23)

1. Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he sent a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying: 2. Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. (Ezra 1:1-2) ‘Whoever there is among you of all His people, may his God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the Lord, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:3)

Will take over = foreign war

Let no one imagine that there is a historical framework for the racist and colonialist orders by the United states, or for the military solutions put forward by hateful Jewish leaders in Israel.   People we deem to be informed would laugh then shudder at the prospect that the supposed leader of the advancing world would embrace such a recessive idea.  He, naturally, has some delusion of financial gains for himself, his family and the super rich.  Leaders who disregard the interests of the poor and the oppressed.  We laugh because it is preposterous. We love because it is a divine response to the folly of Earth’s rulers to put distance between themselves and anointed leadership.  It is not true that no one knows what Christ on a throne on Earth might look like.  Solomon was a successful and just king.  The justice of liberation from colonialism is not without witness.  African leaders of the 20th century made straight paths for their feet, chief among them His Imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I. Like Mussolini, all wannabe emperors and strongmen can find a den in which to die in the lands they have

“Obliterate” sounds like “annihilate”, like “decimate”, and the Israeli attempt to end Hamas is a dull echo of other specific attempts at genocide.  Movements do not die without deaths without and without.

Trump, triumphalism and treachery tanking

He who thinks of nothing but personal victories is conquered by vice of greed.  Solomon told us.   Early Israel was allowed to loot and pillage the Canaanites to accomplish God’s justice on them. Apparently their time had run out and God was interested in replacing the amorites with Abraham’s descendants, recently released from Egyptian bondage. The next time that Israelites were allowed to plunder their neighbors was in the Babylonian exile when the Persian king, discovering a plot to murder a Jew, allowed the Jewish people to plunder and pillage the Persian people. There is hardly a better icon of triumphalism and treachery than the Jewish pride that accompanied the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the province of Judea under Ezra and Nehemiah. One must conclude that the American criminal enterprise that has taken over the White House and the Republican Party represents a kind of treachery that has no outlet for forgiveness.  The puppets who are imprisoned in the cult of MAGA and the host of Evangelical and Catholic activists will never recognize the uselessness of their senseless prank, holding up Mammon as proof of divine favour.

To this day both the Jewish people and the Persians have not embraced the veracity of God putting the two peoples together with episodes of thrilling transparency and double-edged justice.  Israel, we assume, from the imaginary history invoked by Israelites from time to time, cannot seem capable of saying “the Lord made the Persians our caretakers”.  Out of this colonial relationship came the magnanimous venture of the return from exile.

LET HIM GO UP.

“Thus says Cyrus king of Persia, ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He has appointed me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever there is among you of all His people, may the Lord his God be with him, and let him go up!’” (2 Chronicles 36:23)

LET HIM GO UP.

‘Whoever there is among you of all His people, may his God be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah and rebuild the house of the Lord, the God of Israel; He is the God who is in Jerusalem. (Ezra 1:3)

Organized and authorized looting in Persia

LETTERS SENT BY COURIERS

In them the king granted the Jews who were in each and every city the right to assemble and to defend their lives, to destroy, to kill and to annihilate the entire army of any people or province which might attack them, including children and women, and to plunder their spoil, (Esther 8:11)

Time runs out for everyone

Babylon the great had almost 100years.  Persia had 200+ years.  Greece had nearly 509 years.  Why had Rome been the implicit power for 2 millennia?  Because this time when time runs out the cycles of human dominance will end catastrophically.  After Rome lost its grip on the levers of power the world has been subject to something akin to international piracy.  The enterprises of Portugal, Spain, England, Holland, Germany and the United States are all proven failures.  Do you still wonder why they are all reaching for past greatness.  They are all bankrupt of ideas beyond the exploitation of the vulnerable.

Even the Church of Jesus Christ has been infected by this tremble bug, that says people have to crush others to be successful, they have to enslave others to feel empowered.  If God does not relieve you of your discomfort and disease he is still God.    If God does not spur your  business into bigger barns is he still not God?  If we keep facing famine,/hunger, violent discrimination, poverty, distress and persecution we still overwhelmingly conquer.
