The point of protest is to elevate the truth in the starkest possible contrast and make the protestors sure that their message reaches the target. Peaceful protest is a right we treasure. We even allow parliamentary opposition members to heckle and violate our House order with slander and unhinged allegations. The protest on the Avenue Road bridge in Toronto is being declared a threat because Jewish people feel uncomfortable. Perhaps the Toronto Police Chief wants Palestinian protestors to go to Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem and be mowed down by Israel’s police and military.Duh! Duh! Dud!

Sometimes diplomacy is for cowards

Canada’s politicians are too steeped in useless diplomacy to tell Canadians the truth about Israeli criminality. The Israel of the twenty-first century is the same corrupt prostitute that the prophets knew. The Israel that swept into Canaan under the leadership of a man named Joshua is the same lying tale-spinner that told Jewish men to divorce their non-Jewish wives and abandon the children of those unions.

Zealous for cruelty

“Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.”

There was widespread interracial marriage.

“For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.”

The answer to this problem is infamous and in no way a defense of truth

“Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.” (Ezra 10:3, KJVA)

Racist and genocidal

Ezra and Nehemiah were engaging in the restoration of Judea after many years in exile, and the best they could come up with was a racist and inhumane policy against people marrying outside of their race and abandoning children. Do we expect Israel of 2024 to be anymore humane to its own people much less towards its enemies? South Africans know what apartheid looks like, and if anyone can speak to it it is them. it makes one wonder where did the Jewish people learn about apartheid and how to apply it to Canaan. The evidence of Israel’s occupation of Canaan, the historically moral bankruptcy and homicidal policymakers, is more than enough. Seventy years have done little to shape the Israeli psyche towards humility and a commitment to justice. Most of us have bought the public spiele about Israeli ingenuity, heroic fighters, and endurance through severe trial and near annihilation, but now we are not so wild eyed. We have the facts playing out on TV before our eyes, and call it what you will, people are dying unnecessarily and, we believe, by design. When a Jewish temple rises on Temple mount we will see a lot of sleep walking Christians on the street making complete jackasses of themselves, as if they do not know why the temple was destroyed twice. By our silence over the police shutting down the Avenue Road protest we have turned protest into an excuse to take sides in a dispute where we have not accepted the international consensus and international law. Bite down hard, all ye Palestine haters, no anesthetic or strong drink is available.
