I launched this experience to spread my appreciation of some of the amazing things happening in my life, but I soon realized that things, no matter how amazing, are usually not as valuable or interesting as persons. So I then started to publish the sayings of Jesus, correctly interpreted.  Then I began to include my labor activism, until I realized that most people, including God, are interested in fun, pleasure delight, and a good laugh.

“Life is fun but not a joke” steers away from debates and discussions.  Even in the group of less than a dozen people discussion and debate gobbles up a lot of time that is why there are no discussions between you the reader and me the writer.

Cutting straight and chopping off

One of the meanings of the action addressed in the exhortation from Paul to Timothy in 2  Timothy 2:15 is often overlooked.  Accurately handling comes from orthotomeo ortho-taw-MAY-o; the ortho portion gives us the RIGHT part of the action.  Ortho also appears in Orthodox, meaning right opinion.  The other half of the word means cut.   So, putting the two pieces together we have the instruction from Paul to Timothy indicating cutting something in the proper way. 

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)

I have thought of this action as that performed by a joiner, a worker in wood, who cuts things precisely so that they can fit together by simple gluing. But let’s not take that gluing too far.  It has now dawned on me that the proper work recommended by Paul would involve separating things that are not necessary. 

For example, taking the Lord’s teaching in John chapter 4:21-24, one must cut away anything related to either mountain, Jerusalem or Gerizim. 

21) Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22) “You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23) “But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. 24) “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:21-24)

Worship in spirit and in truth does not need any mountain anywhere, needs no dedicated priesthood, no sacred objects, and no fixed times or seasons.

A second example, takes the Lord’s role as the prophet,  and parks any prophetic saying once an instance of Yeshua’s utterance on the same matter is available.  So there you have it:  “properly handling” or “correctly handling” or “rightly dividing” as the King James version says, most certainly includes chopping things off.

For that compromised Chief Justice and all the members of Congress going home after the inauguration of a known felon and pathological liar is going to be like never before.  All the talk about oversight and wise deliberation comes crashing down around the power brokers in the United States.  They might as well stay in Washington because they no longer represent the people.  Going to their districts or going home from the debacle of American boorish-prudence and another deeper dive into the abyss of falling for false pride. Can the justices find a home with spouses who are up to their knees in admiration of Jim Crow and colonial empire fantasy?

Nationalism ends up in corruption and destruction

It is an incontrovertible preface to catastrophe when a nation trusts in its military prowess and acclaims itself as invincible. Every respectable nation puts some confidence in its military, but it is an entirely different matter when a nation prioritizes its military spending and authorizes the use of its military to solve even social problems. The genius of American constitutional is the challenge of balance, not dominance. Three Hebrew boys were Yahweh’s instruments in outwitting the Babylon empire. Haman, the Persian, found out that assassination and murder does not prevail, just as American and Canadian discrimination could not erase the Native nations of Turtle Island. Corruption gets another kick at the can for the largest audience in history. Amecian corruption of the levers of power is no worse than first century CE corruption in the province Judea. (There was no sovereign Israel in the first century CE). A crash comes quickly, just when the rich and powrful think they have captured the fortress of human dignity and crushed the aspiration of the masses. The calamity will be so great, the generals and mighty men will call for the rocks – not the huge resources of WMDs and wealth – to cover them. The rock will say, “Sorry. We are not able”. There is no home for felons and sycophants in America. The media circus is a temporary roadside shack. Knock, knock! Silence.

Divine righteousness is a lamb anticipating dying for sinners

What righteousness looks like: rejoicing, enduring, sitting

I may be curious to see if Felonious I, on January 20, will recognize the greatness of people power and have remarks about Martin Luther King Jr’s contribution to the United States.  However I am not that hopeful, so I will not be soiling the recognition of MLK with broadcasts of the inauguration on January 20th.

Let MAGA know that their grip on the few, around 33%,  is loosening

We recognize the contributions of Babylon, Persis, Greece and Rome to civic society, but what can we say of Aram, Israel, Judah, the Ishmaelite clans and nations, the several European powers, Great Britain and the United States of America?  If Babylon was a head of gold, and if the divided Roman Empire was feet and toes of iron and clay, whence does the Make America Great Again get its cane or walker or wheelchair for a golden age.

41) “In that you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, it will be a divided kingdom; but it will have in it the toughness of iron, inasmuch as you saw the iron mixed with common clay. 42) “As the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of pottery, so some of the kingdom will be strong and part of it will be brittle. 43) “And in that you saw the iron mixed with common clay, they will combine with one another in the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, even as iron does not combine with pottery. One hour of golden grifting is simply more dirt and iron

Israel in the realm of the undead

Terrorism has been the blasphemous and legal rationale for government success in most of modern history.  Vigilante self-defense anywhere is not much different from annihilation attempts anywhere.  Observers in the 21st century may be unaware that the land claimed by Israelis and Palestinians was once the site of ancient Israelite genocide. The rule of law has not stabilized the progress of humanity despite millennia of opportunity. Courts of justice and the sacred halls of governance are too often the insidious agents of terror, sickness, and injustice. Those who pin their hopes of peace and success on conducting wars are most miserable and bankrupt.

January 16, 2025 is a day of ultimate evil.  After almlost two years of Israel’s slaughter, massacre and assassination of Palestinians the announcement of a deal is the epitome of absolute treachery and inhumanity.  No-one should think that Israel has done anything beside tickled the hate, anger and patriotism of a sector of Israeli society. The people who are not idealogically connected to the State of Israel want Jerusalem to be a cosmppolitan city, and they stand in the best prophetic tradition. Shedding innocent blood anywhere is a cause for the divine sword to exact its due. The cycle of making widosw and orphans continues with the gravitas of the gullible.

You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child. Exodus 22:22, If you do mistreat them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, Exodus 22:23, and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless. Exodus 22:24,

What has been agreed

  • Cease fire, while Israel reserves the right to have its Air force strike anywhere at any time
  • Hostage deal, which is usually an opportunity for Israel to release hundreds of not thousands of Palestinians in Israeli detention
  • No two-state solution. What?

Who are the parties at the table in the January 2025 Israel-Hamas deal?

We can recognize terrorist scoundrels in government and elsewhere by what they do, and Israel’s lengthy catastrophic assault on Gaza was not a war.  Hamas virtually disappeared after the October massacre of Israeli citizens.  When Israel embarked on its war to erase Hamas, the legitimate goverment of Gaza, it could not, with a straight face, tell the world that it would not target and erase Palestinians who are innocent of violence against Israel. It could not, and it did not. What the world has seen is the razing of Gaza and the inflicting of a catastrophic medical disaster on Gazans.

  • If Hamas is decimated, decapitated, and its offensive capacity reduced, who is at the table?
  • What is the power behind the parties as they each ink a deal?

Who then is at the table? Dead Hamas operatives? Hamas allies? Wiping Hamas from the map is as evil a goal as Hamas’ attempts to wipe Israelis from the map. Did any goverment. beside South Africa, ever say that Israel is a terrorist and racist nation? Does anyone have to wonder what God’s take is, when the ancient Jewish people lived side by side for millennia with ancient Canaanites who, according to the edict for Israelite possession of Canaan, were the targets of a genocidal campaign? Israelis and their sworn enemies (like Hamas, the Iranians, and the Yemenis) are heading up the creek without paddles.

Are those people negotiating for Hamas perfectly neutral entities? Now, tell the world, which commentators and observers did not anticipate Israel reporting that Hamas is violating the deal?  Which Israeli voter did not know that one of the micro-parties in the coalition that underpins the Netanyahu regime would exploit the agreement because Hamas survives another genocidal assault in the Holy Land? “Once and for all”, and “never again” are expressions of another reality, not banners of a just and peaceful society.  An ear tingling era is dawning, and it is not a divine response to violence.  We know what that looks like. The brazen lies, thefts and destruction that have defined the devil’s career and character are rolling into high gear in the public eye with narration from the so-called legacy media.

All the heroes of Israel’s past are tapping her gently on the shoulder saying “Wake up”. Judging from the vehemence of settler policy, and the international complicity, the sleep seems to be turning to stupor. Governments like Canada and the US can try to stifle the voices of protest and opposition to Israel’s oppression. paranoia and pride, but Ezekiel’s prediction of the valley of dead bones seems more distant. This exactly why people should not be sucked into unbelief. Just when we say “impossible” God jumps in. Just when we say “peace and safety” calamity kisses us. For now, Israel, its allies and its enemies are in the zone of the undead, thriving on the flesh and blood of others.
