Sunday May 3 | LIGHT

The Risen Christ

Faith – day – LIGHT seeing dawn as resurrection |. It was dawn when the most unlikely individuals discovered that light had defeated the darkness.

Two Marys👧🏾👩🏿‍⚕️

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. (Matthew 28:5)

The Coming of light into the world unveils the babe of Bethlehem, the benevolent work of Christ for the poor and needy, and the glorious resurrection from the dead.

Hope – day – LIGHT trusting illumination |

Sometimes, hope is mere satisfaction with the promise of desirable things, but Christ takes hope to a surprising new level. Light seemed to have failed at the cross, but light comes into locked rooms just as the chosen throw up their hands in disappointment.

Now when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were together due to fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” (John 20:19)

Love – day – LIGHT embracing warmth |

With the coming of light after the cross at least one disciple gets an unusual intimacy; hands-on warmth.

Then He said to Thomas, “Place your finger here, and see My hands; and take your hand and put it into My side; and do not continue in disbelief, but be a believer.” (John 20:27)

Death – day – LIGHT becoming dusk’s paradox

With all the breaking out of light and warmth, the hard truth stared the disciples in the face; death was the appointed means by which light and life came to the world.

Change and chance – LLC02

Saturday May 02, 2026

Who works while Christ rests on the Sabbath?

Faith-CHANGE- LIGHT seeing constancy in transformation |. People give tons of lip service to change, saying, for example that change is good,  change is great, but change makes most people uncomfortable. Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be replaced.

Jesus chose a Saturday to introduce his community to him. He attended synagogue and commented on the meaning of Isaiah 61. The people of his hometown threw him out and tried to end his life.

Hope-CHANGE -LIGHT trusting renewal | the people wanted renewal but the leaders were having none of its processes, even though everything in the future required hope,

Love-CHANGE -LIGHT embracing ADAPTABILITY |

Israel adapted to being in the land without paying attention to what God required of them to live in the land and to stay in the land, and as a result there was destruction and exile.  Take note, none of these things are possible in the church of God.

Death-CHANGE – LIGHT becoming Sabbath REST | if we connect the two to light the Sabbath of Christ’s rest is a dark time, and that is not an acceptable scenario. Light and life have not dimmed or suffered defeat

Our motherless ancestor – LLC01

Friday May 01, 2026

Eve came from Adam but no one calls him “mamma mia”, and we are quick to assign origins to terms like sire, begotten, and copulation, and when we do we abandon the most intimate of interactions and relationships. Mother Jerusalem may not strike you as particularly  impressive and relevant to all humans, but God has a Son apart from motherhood, and when God put his Son on display he needed a mother. Enter Mary, of the lineage of David.

MOTHER and life

Faith-mother-LIGHT seeing nurture as promise |

You will have seed – descendants – Genesis 3:15

Hope-mother-LIGHT trusting gestation |

All the living have hope – whether they are conscious of it or not.

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. (Psalms 22:9)

Love-mother-LIGHT embracing care |

Motherly love beckons to us as the temporary standard of care and affection.  Its failure is not a reflection of God’s faithfulness or reliability.

Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. (Isaiah 49:15)

Death-mother-LIGHT becoming portal to Immortal’s life |

The moment human beings are born they begin the journey to death, and thus a mother’s room becomes part of that necessary cycle: non-existence, life, and death

Behold, I was brought forth in guilt, And in sin my mother conceived me. (Psalms 51:5)
