Philippians 3:13
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Paul was not writing about personal troubles: pain, failure, hurts, ingratitude, or unforgiveness.
Behind Paul, in his own recollection were:
- circumcision
- tribal pride
- ethnicity
- sectarian zeal
- resume of opposition to the truth
(from Philippians 3:5-6)
