A life without limits

Instead of praying we have been decreeing and declaring, commanding and not demanding. It is obvious the decreeing, declaring and commanding is unreliable – no, I’m being kind – a genuine theatrical flop. I have heard ’em putting an end to Satan’s power!!!

Do you know how many times I have heard a believer – on being asked to pray – pronounce life a veritable paradise, free of challenge, deny the adversity that elicits growth? I dare say too many times. It it is a mind that rejects growth, that preaches victory and success to people who are MORE THAN CONQUERORS that invents this kind of routine. They are time-wasters in my opinion, but God has a more precise definition for that type.

Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

John 15:20

We’ve forgotten that Christ actually fed the hungry and released those oppressed and he’s not finished

A very bad smell on his hands

The gloating bigot in the White House is trying to show there is no blood on those pleading palms. His talking points can do nothing to turn back the plague and do not change his very public incompetence. Maybe his evangelical prophets and commandment-keeping sycophants have convinced him that the plagues included a scorching sun. Perhaps his sun-allergy has not taught him that heat kills people. There is no bleeding heart behind these hands that seem to say “Look, can’t you see I got this?”

I got this, not.

“We have this under control” sounds a lot like “what he’s done for others he’ll do for you”. “Open for business” is simply more prostitute lingo. What’s he going to do: forcefeed the population his miracle drug?

If we have learned anything about oppressive business and phony worship and nationalism it is that overturning vendor tables and throwing out moneychangers was the least the administration’s problems of Judea in New Testament times. If we really are wondering “what lesson” and want the facts, does what’s left of Judea look like a blessed-above-all nations? Who wants to live in a community where history rubs one’s face in the grime of human deceit?

What pie- in-the-sky grunge will the omnipotent toad of Mar a Lago invent when the economy falls – and it will – back into the abyss it came from? The Democrats did it?

Pity those “journalists” whose questions the bigot loves, and who say nothing when one of the pool gets an insult from the chief of America’s fine racists.

Cheer loudly for the journalists labelled fake because they pursue the facts and shake the criminal empire of 45 to its core. He has never been more exposed as incompetent and malicious as when he says “I’m not a doctor“? Duh! Perhaps he should to his admissions human, lover, leader, and thief.

“Just try this drug any way”. What do Americans have to lose? Their lives – that’s a thing people need to pursue liberty and happiness.

Wash your hands and take your hydroxychloroquine, please.

Skirting the city to create a hamlet

If the returning exiles needed a guiding light it was not the Sinai Covenant or the patriarch traditions. Mosaic traditions had by this time become useless – blood that cleansed nothing. Where was the crown? We do not know how the Lord inspired Cyrus to decree the return, but Cyrus could not but have been impressed by the proud attachment of a people to a palace for an invisible king; a palace built by a king whose kingdom is the opposite of his own. They celebrated and embraced the Mosaic legacy but skirted the throne and the truthful village connected to SSolomon’s dynasty.

He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

1 Chronicles 22:10
No monarchy in the restoration

Cyrus learned from the records that his predecessor’s reign came to an end just as predicted. He also learned that there was a king whose kingdom was not going to end. His own name appears in prophecy stating his role in rebuilding the Province of Judea.

The return to Judea had just about everything except a Solomonic monarch. Solomon may have had an unimpeachable life as a wise ruler but he was a poor model for Mosaic orthodoxy. No conscientious disciple of Moses would rush to line up behind Solomon. The returnees chose to distance themselves from anything connected with the reason for their captivity in the first place. Solomon was the poster boy for idolatry, the classic Israelite folly. Yet the sure mercies of God to David found its legs in the Solomonic throne. David’s son will build the temple and it is his throne that  will be established for ever.

What is Jerusalem without a Davidide ruler? A desolate house.

Moabite sanctuary according to David

And the LORD said to me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give you of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar to the children of Lot for a possession.

Deuteronomy 2:9

A great deal of Israelite distress had to do with their interactions with the Moabites. Indeed it was an interaction with the Moabites on the very borders of Canaan that led to an extermination of a large number of Israelites due to the prostitution explosion (Numbers 25). David was obviously aware of this Deuteronomy instruction and his family’s debt to Moab (the story of Ruth and Naomi) when he did the following.

… smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.

2 Samuel 8:2

This is not the only time David spared the life of a known enemy

Next time you think you have a victory or think you are doing a great and wonderful thing consider how many people might be paying for it.

Ain’t GOD the truth?

What have we become, having substituted God’s SON for the comforts of national pride, dead prophets and Mammon?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Psalms 2:2, 12

Of course you can

It is completely mind-boggling for Christians to believe that they have a problem with forgiving someone. Our Lord had an encounter with his contemporaries people because he dared to say to someone “Your sins are forgiven”, yet this is what everyone expected when he came to the Tabernacle to deal with his sin.

It shall be forgiven him

The big problem is that we are authorized to forgive as a gateway to our own forgiveness from on high.

The unwritten code

Everyone has a story to tell but there are things to acknowledged and expressly to be kept off the written page. Typically we resort to “It is written” and this is of little value when the thunder-spoken words are not written in our identity and experience.

And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

Revelation of John 10:4

It is not possible to find these utterances in the Bible

This episode in Revelation 10 illustrates the important difference between following the Bible carefully as learners and connecting with the Speaker.

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

2 Corinthians 3:6
