Death’s brightness – LLC27

Wednesday May 27 WISDOM

Faith – WISDOM –  LIGHT; seeing reverence |

For wisdom is protection just as money is protection, But the advantage of knowledge is that wisdom keeps its possessors alive. (Ecclesiastes 7:12)

The popular idea of Bible study is out of line with Solomonic wisdom. Wisdom is either acquired by diligence or given by God.  Knowing Jesus brings a person to eternal life.  Solomon seems to know more about length of life and not about new and divine dimensions. Just try to find the terms faith, believe, and salvation in Proverbs and Ecclesiastes.

Hope – WISDOM –  LIGHT; trusting unfolding |

For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers. (1 Timothy 4:10)

The transmission of culture is a world away from the life of the people graced by God.  They see their cultic practice repeated like a pantomime weekly and annually and instinctively they label it as wisdom. There was nothing in the unfolding Levitical processes for people to trust in. Unfolding history only made people more rebellious, and Moses never said that animals will be replaced by the Lamb of God.

Love – WISDOM –  LIGHT; embracing guidance |

and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not accept the love of the truth so as to be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:10)

Loving the truth can be perverted and corrupted into all kinds of theories.  It is evident that truth without Jesus Christ is at this point a big Jewish and Islamic lie.

Imagine that God did nothing to move a person to be saved and you will have no problem saying you saved yourself by your own efforts and diligence.  God wants people to be saved, and he does not leave it up to human wisdom or willpower.

Death – WISDOM – LIGHT; becoming teacher |

For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all mankind, especially of believers. (1 Timothy 4:10)

Christ was at one time a popular and respected figure due to his good deeds, unprecedented miracles and profound grasp of the meaning of the sacred texts. Once his teaching began to address his death and resurrection all hell came calling. Even his disciples could not embrace a dying saviour.  Christ’s contemporaries could not see themselves believing in a dying and lifegiving servant of God, much less a dying Son of Man. Christ’s best lesson was in dying.
