Perplexed yet?

And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity ( απορία aporia ) or the roaring of the sea and the billows;

Luke 21:25

The outbreaks of violence and treachery, man’s inhumanity, the outrages of unrestrained badness in places of responsibility and authority in the second decade of the 21st century are truly nightmarish but the panic and animalistic urges of self-preservation have no leg to stand on. If there is anxiety we need to turn off the taps. If there are a host of troubles for which we have no answer the world does not need the usual news conferences and talking points from bureaucrats and experts.

Aporia tells us of the absence of ways-out. Perplexed people have no answers to the problems they are confronting. Will the perplexed people come to their senses and recognize the one who cued up the events that are grabbing global attention all over the world and has the answers?

The one who has the answers is hated and slandered and people are deserting him in droves. People who see the events unfolding just as Yeshua said should come to their senses and repent. Instead of sobering up, they curse.

20. And the rest of the men which were not killed by [the] plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: 21. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

Revelation of John 9:20-21

Books are fatiguing

There are prophets galore in the Old Testament, 5 books of instruction, lots of letters, but only one prophecy.  The world needs no  authoritative book. I have only 10 fingers.  Ten chapters or paragraphs can be huge, but sentences forces the writer to be concise and cogent.

Separate me by all means

If you do not recognize the distinct identity and purpose of the Lord Yeshua you will inevitably experience a shipwreck. We keep trying liken him to ancient heroes, but he is in a class by himself.

Holy, Harmless, Undefiled, Separate and Higher

Christ is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate and higher than any one we can find or name. He is holy by himself. He is all remedy and therefore can do no harm. His purity, separateness and stature blows all comers away

For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

Hebrews 7:26

Ask any reader – not necessarily a student – and you will find that Christ is lumped up with every Jack-in-the-box. People keep painting him into the corners of their discarded boxes: levitical priest, Mosaic economy king, Sinai covenant sacrifice, prophet in Moses mode, teacher like the scribes and Pharisees.

Whoever or whatever you think Yeshua is he has no peer. He calls the others (who come in God’s name?) thieves and robbers. So how dare anyone turn Yeshua into a student of Moses?

One God, One Book?

How did Israel get away with open idolatry all the while pretending to worship one God? There was no freedom of religion: Babylon and Nineveh fared better on that score. How do we get from worshipping one God to having idols?

“Do not worship idols. Do not make statues of gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 19:4

Could the Israelites not have arrested, charged and tried every idolater. The sentence: death. If the law is primary the churches should be executing people. If not for idolatry for the very obvious profanation of the Sabbath.

We can be sure that no church will start executing people openly. The church will do what Judea did: get the civil power to silence perceived threats. The Romans were ready. The obsession with the ten commandments is a quick and easy doorway to tyranny. They never led to justice, mercy and faithfulness.

And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

Leviticus 26:30

In New Testament times the world was still in the grasp of Satanic idolatry. The Jews were not an exception. They led the assault on worshipping the one true God.

⚠️🚨Major Counterfeit Bulletin🚨⚠️

Any natural human can do what the law says: they do not need God, law, tent, priest, prophet, or king.

Doing what the law or covenant says – eating, drinking, atonement rituals, festivals and circumcision – do not amount to an international standard.

for when Gentiles which have no law do by nature the things of the law, these [people], having no law, are a law unto themselves;

What God told His Son

It is not secret what God wants us to hear and know.

The idea that God sent his Son to bring the world (back?) to Eden or Sinai is laughable and sad. Can you imagine God telling God “You shall nor bear false witness…”? A quick route to trashing divine majesty is to make God subject to laws. If God was subject to laws every miracles is a sin. If God’s righteous rule of the universe rests on the Sinai covenant (or its intent) or on the practices of Israel’s patriarchs to where was that regime before God made earth and human beings? No healthy mind can imagine God issuing the Sinai covenant to the heavenly hosts or to Adam and Eve in Eden.

Everyone needs to work on fruit enjoyment. Everyone needs to work on gift deployment. There is nothing else to be revealed. All that God needs to say to us has been written – no matter what insights come to us.

If it is not written it is a lie

Not a specialist in the word of God? Why are you not? Should a pastor not equip the saints to do ministry? If we have no interest then perhaps it is time to check whether we have been properly introduced to the Saviour of world. It is no wonder that people flock to applaud the flipflopping, whooping, and hollering. There is so little of the Crucified in the messaging of most churches. You do not need a vision to know what God is paying. Read it or ask someone who can.

When God speaks from Heaven it is always about his Son. If we would learn that lesson we will be saved and recognize his voice instead of piling up the sayings of men, whether they are prophets, priests or kings.

There are many things we hear from people in the seats of authority that are neither angel-speak, nor thunder, nor the Good Shepherd’s voice.

The voice of God

Thunder and angels

John 12:29 reports that God spoke and people who were saturated in the very words of God had no idea what he said. Some in the audience said they heard natural noise, thunder. Others assumed that an angel had spoken. The voice we hear seems to be the echoes of our imagination.

The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.

Loud and confusing

Sometimes the noise of battle overpowers the gospel’s joyful sound. Sometimes it is the noise of battle with no battle. I detect that the John 12:29 phenomenon plays out more often than we would like to admit. The thunder-angel game is comfortable and costly. If God speaks and it sounds like thunder or if one mistakes his voice for an angel (or vice versa) we are in a deep pit with smooth walls.

Loud and low

There is quite literally a lot of shouting. Church can be loud, and its sounds can be mindboggling stupid or sensible. Slogans and mottos, maxims and downright nonsense pollute the air. There are stories that studiously avoid the gospel, even when the story is from one of the four gospels, whence we get the lowdown on the Saviour’s voice.

Matthew 12:19-21

19. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. 20. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. 21. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
