Greatness within reach

December 20, 2019
The thinly disguised longing for the good old days of Boss Hogg and Roscoe P. Coltrane has taken over the Republican party and the Churches The rejection of the authentic Messiah and a feigned commitment to the Bible (which is usually Solomonic wisdom or crude Sinai copycat), never got a grip in American life. The failure to protect vulnerable children from violence is proof that unprincipled leadership will not prevail. The 45th president may be celebrated as an unloaded 45 handgun, wielded by men who have learned to use words to incite but never learned to read.

Triggering a constitutional crisis has been the goal of radio heads and entertainers on television. Perhaps they can tell the “45” that the articles of impeachment are an illusion, and keep telling him that presidential power can protect him from Messianic truth (which is what matters if you read the Bible).
The GOP-dominated Senate will experience either a miraculous transformation from good old privileged boys to men of just principles or exposure as public officials interested only in their own re-election and confirmed as defenders of a criminal and incompetent buffoon. Gun culture takes a big hit just as Canada considers banning handguns. Kiss USA version 2 north of the 49th “goodbye” and let the Bigot-in-chief know his time is up.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8
The hawking of this verse as a safety pin to yesterday is the same as YESHUA’S contemporaries pinning their hearts to the God of the Sinai covenant
“Same” must be understood as eternally existent but only recently revealed.
4. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6. For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:4-6
It was both Jews and Gentiles. So it should not be strange to see people falling off the truck today. When it first broke Paul concluded that a bewitching was in progress: someone had put a spell on them. The church also had a resolute response to the assault; we are not following Moses and we are not admitting circumcision as a Christian practice.

We can imagine thousands of Jewish people who turned from darkness to light wanting to have a place of advantage because of what they found in the Yeshua’s disciples. What they did find was a lot of their sacred writings were in use by the disciples. It might have seemed to be be a waste of time- same God, same demands – what was the point? People will say that they are saved by grace and apart from law. Three same people will say that the way to show one is saved is to keep the law – that same law whose job was to point out what sin is. People who think that “justified” is not a reference to grace and blood and nothing else have not lawyered up.
If (a) the law was not given to save anyone and (b) the Jews were still seeking – in New Testament times – the one thing that could save what madness could have possessed them to try to repaint their law and prophets as the saving tools of Abraham’s God?
Won’t it be eyeopening when the Jewish people tell us there is no God but Yeshua? We can fully expect them to confess being the original recipients of the gospel and can now clarify the message of the Anointed.
There are people who with a straight face will tell you:
Wait until we hear that loud cry that the Rabbi from Galilee is calling men to follow Moses and the prophets. That will be a token of our times and may go unnoticed even by the people who have been frontline followers of Yeshua. That call is sounding now and growing louder.

The expected outcome of sowing the gospel is Mark 4:32
But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

The seed sowing does not always result in the productivity of Mark 4:32. At least we are aware that several outcomes are possible. God – or his agents – do not have a lock on where the seed lands. The certainty of Mark 4:32 rests with God’s accuracy and irresistible will.

God does not prepare every patch for the seed

Above all, take the shield of faith…
Ephesians 6:16a
You may have been taught that the Christian’s shield is (a) his promise to follow and (b) the reliability of his performance. Let us be persuaded about our security.
After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
Genesis 15:1

Believing in God may shield one from personal insecurity and affect interpersonal esteem.
Faith gets legs when anyone’s traditions take a back seat to promises we could never hope to bring to pass.
